A New Global Brand: TUSKON

As the largest and most widespread non-governmental organization in the Turkish business community, TUSKON endeavors to promote Turkey’s tremendous economic potential to the world by organizing international business summits under a unique concept that we call “Foreign Trade Bridges.” Foreign Trade Bridge programs have not only polished the image of Turkey as a reliable source of services and industrial products that offer diversified product spectrums and balanced quality-and-cost schemes; but have also provided us with the opportunity to extend our hospitality and friendship to people from different parts of the world. After organizing nine “Foreign Trade Bridge” events, TUSKON today has become a very well-known and well-trusted brand in the international business community.

A Bridge for the Entire World

The flagship of TUSKON’s foreign trade bridge programs, “Turkey-World Trade Bridge 2009” (TWTB 2009), was organized in Istanbul, Turkey during June 1-7, 2009. A total of 2,250 business people from 135 different countries, and 3,000 businesspeople from Turkey, participated in TWTB 2009. A full 120,000 bilateral business meetings took place between Turkish and international participants. These meetings are estimated to produce a trade volume of 7-billion U.S. dollars in the near future. In this respect, TWTB 2009 program took its place in the history of global trade as the largest business match-making summit ever organized.

Justified Success and Enthusiasm

We have been following the results of TWTB 2009 very closely via feedback from participants and trade figures in Turkey and all participating countries. First of all, the outcome on our side is very promising. All reports suggest that the majority of international participants benefited from the event, and are willing to attend similar programs in the future. Secondly, the trade figures between Turkey and participating countries show that Turkey’s foreign trade has been increasing, or at least not decreasing, after June 2009. For example; Turkey’s foreign trade with Africa has been increasing steadily since the onset of 2009, even though there is a decrease in Turkey’s general foreign trade as a result of the global economic crisis. A third indicator of the success of TWTB 2009 is that there has been increasing interest among our members in the trade delegations that TUSKON organizes to the countries that contributed to TWTB 2009.

Reunion in 2010

To deliver even greater benefits to participating countries and Turkey,, TUSKON is proud to announce that Turkey-World Trade Bridge 2010 will be held on June 14-20, 2010 in Istanbul with the same enthusiasm and passion. In 2010, our focus will again be on enhancing business and trade relations between Turkey’s leading manufacturers, and import companies from 150 different countries. In addition to business people and entrepreneurs, trade ministers and journalists from selected countries will be invited.

Turkey Speeds Recovery From Global Slowdown

We expect that world trade will be reviving in 2010, in contrast to the shrinkage of 2009. However, the global economic turmoil has already changed business practices all around the world, by reducing the purchasing power of many potential consumers that had artificially benefited from credit booms and vast liquidity. In the post-crisis era, companies that can achieve sustainability by offering top quality products and services with reasonable prices will be able to prevail in global trade. At this point, we believe that Turkey, as a reliable alternative source of supply, can help international companies keep their customers, sales and profit margins intact. As the 17th largest economy in the world, Turkey has something to offer every enterprise no matter what its size.

Long Lasting Friendships

The Turkey-World Trade Bridge 2010 program will help international companies see the benefits that Turkey can offer for their companies. Both domestic and international participants will find the opportunity to investigate new markets, and evaluate the potential of different countries. Join Turkey World Trade Bridge 2010 in order to gain the advantage of doing business with leading Turkish manufacturers. Let us help you find the right business partners from Turkey for mutual trade and investment. It is our strong belief that Turkey World Trade Bridge 2010 will once again be an event that enhances first friendships, and then mutual trade, and operates for everyone’s benefit.
